You already know the impact of your CX leadership. CXLM is where that leadership gets independently verified — not self-reported, not assumed from your title, but recognized by two practitioners who have spent years assessing exactly this, at the most senior level of the profession.
CXLM (Customer Experience Leadership Master) is an evidence-based accreditation verifying a CX leader's Authority, Narrative, and Impact — independently assessed by Nienke Bloem and Ian Golding.
CXLM is built on the ANI model — Authority, Narrative, Impact. It isn't a framework to apply. It's recognition of a shift already made in your career: from managing CX to leading it at the highest level of your organization — commercial, public sector, or government. Impact is built on Authority, and both are proven through how you've actually led.
Inside your organization, your authority is already established. CXLM extends that recognition externally — validated by two practitioners who have spent years assessing CX leadership at the most senior level of the profession.
Not a case study written by marketing. Your CX Story, your CX Strategy, and the change methods you've used to lead an organization through strategic transformation — clear, consistent, and connected to real outcomes, whether you lead in a commercial business, the public sector, or government.
Scaling CX. Embedding it into how the organization operates. Results that reach beyond your own team — recognized at the highest levels of leadership, whatever kind of organization you lead in. This is where CX leadership stops being intention and becomes proof.
Minimum 5 years' CX leadership experience, a written account of your Authority and Narrative, and two testimonials from senior leaders who can speak directly to your leadership.
A recorded submission, maximum 20 minutes, showing the real impact of your leadership in practice — not a description of your role, but the work itself.
Nienke and Ian each assess your full submission separately, without seeing each other's notes, against the same documented standard.
Both assessments are compared and a final decision reached together — within three weeks of your written application being approved.
You're recognized as an accredited CX leader — a digital certificate, and a personal note from both founders.
Your CX leadership has delivered results. CXLM gives that work independent recognition, an achievement that brings value to you and the organisation behind you.
CXLM accreditation provides external recognition of your CX leader's demonstrated expertise, adding weight when presenting that expertise to customers, partners and other stakeholders.
A successful accreditation gives your organisation an achievement to communicate: an opportunity to showcase the CX work delivered and acknowledge the teams who contributed.
Accreditation recognises the leadership behind meaningful CX results. It gives colleagues an achievement to celebrate and a reason to feel proud of their contribution.
A visible commitment to CX leadership. Supporting a CXLM application shows that your organisation values experienced CX leadership and invests in its professional recognition.
Everything you need to know, organized by topic.
Customer Experience Leadership Master.
CXLM is an evidence-based accreditation that verifies a CX leader's Authority, their Narrative, told through the real leadership instruments (strategy, business case, change management approach) they've used, and the Impact that change created.
CXLM was created by Nienke Bloem and Ian Golding, two long-standing CX practitioners, trainers, and CXPA Recognized Training Providers, who saw a gap CCXP was never built to address: proving applied CX leadership, not just CX management knowledge.
CCXP verifies that someone understands CX management: the frameworks, the tools, the theory. CXLM verifies something else entirely, that someone is a recognized Authority in CX, has a genuine Narrative of leadership (told through real leadership instruments like strategy, business case, and change management approach) showing how they've driven strategic CX change, and can show the Impact it created. This isn't a seniority test or a longer version of CCXP. It's proof, not that someone has sat in a senior chair for years, but that they've actually led change, and it worked.
Yes, and proudly so. Nienke has been a Recognized Training Provider (RTP) for the CXPA since 2017, and Ian since 2015. We're both firm supporters of the CXPA and everything CCXP represents.
Fully. CCXP remains the foundation of CX management knowledge, and we continue to prepare candidates for it. CXLM doesn't change that.
No. CCXP and CXLM sit side by side, not in competition. CCXP verifies knowledge of CX management. CXLM verifies applied CX leadership, Authority, Narrative, and Impact, a distinct thing CCXP was never designed to assess.
We're not trying to fix or change CCXP, that's not our role, and it's not the point. As experienced educators and mentors who've spent years preparing people for CCXP, and years judging what real delivered results actually look like through the International CX Awards, we simply saw a genuine gap in the market: a leadership accreditation that didn't yet exist. CXLM was built to meet that need, standing next to CCXP, not against it.
ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation is about how a certifying body is governed, impartiality, documented quality management, external audits of process, not about whether the assessment itself is evidence-based. CXLM's methodology is fully evidence-based regardless of ISO status; ISO accreditation would add an external audit layer on top of that, at a cost and scale that isn't proportionate to CXLM today. It remains something we may pursue later as CXLM grows.
CXLM isn't tied to any single country. It's assessed and issued directly by Nienke Bloem and Ian Golding, and is intended for CX leaders internationally, wherever they're based.
It means the 5-year eligibility threshold is a minimum gate, not the actual bar. The real assessment centers on the ANI framework, Authority, Narrative, Impact: demonstrated Authority (are you recognized as one, by your organization and peers), a genuine Narrative built on real leadership instruments actually used to drive strategic CX change, and the Impact that change created. Years of experience get someone in the room. Authority, Narrative, and Impact are what get someone accredited.
Experienced CX leaders, typically manager level and above, who can demonstrate real Authority, a genuine Narrative of applied leadership instruments, and measurable Impact in driving CX change.
No. CCXP is a natural complement, and many candidates will hold it, but it isn't a prerequisite for CXLM.
A minimum of five years' experience in CX or a closely related field. Beyond that, eligibility is really about the evidence you can provide of Authority, Narrative, and Impact.
No. What matters is the nature of the work and the results, not the exact title on your business card.
No. CXLM does not require any formal educational qualification.
Yes, provided you can demonstrate genuine leadership of customer-experience-related change and its impact.
Title matters less than evidence. If you can show real Authority, Narrative, and Impact, a lack of a senior title on paper isn't automatically disqualifying.
Yes, provided they can demonstrate the same standard of evidence as an in-house candidate.
A written application covering your Authority and Narrative (strategy, business case, change approach), two testimonials from senior stakeholders, and a maximum 20-minute evidence video demonstrating real, tangible impact.
Real, specific evidence of a CX change you led, what you did, how you led it, and the measurable impact it created, rather than a general description of your role or philosophy.
Nienke Bloem and Ian Golding each review every submission independently, without seeing each other's notes, before comparing and reaching a joint decision.
A maximum of three weeks from the moment your written application is approved to a final decision.
Senior stakeholders who can speak credibly to your leadership and impact, typically senior management, though the exact criteria are still being finalized.
They discuss the submission directly and reach a joint decision, guided by the documented CXLM standard rather than personal opinion alone.
This is still being finalized, but the intention is to provide constructive feedback wherever possible.
Yes. After a required 6-month waiting period, you're entitled to one free reapplication within 12 months of your original attempt, giving you a genuine opportunity to apply again with new evidence.
Yes, absolutely. Every application is reviewed only by Nienke and Ian, directly. Nothing you submit is shared with anyone else, used for any other purpose, or made public without your explicit permission. We keep your submitted material on file for six months after your application, so we can still refer back to it if any questions come up, and after that it is permanently deleted from all our files.
If it genuinely demonstrates Authority, Narrative, and Impact at the level CXLM requires, it may be relevant, though CXLM's evidence format, particularly the video, is new material.
€799, a one-off fee. This reflects the personal, evidence-based review process behind it, two senior practitioners individually reviewing every submission, not a course fee or an exam charge.
CXLM is paid by credit card, individually, as part of your application. This keeps the process simple and consistent for every candidate.
No. CXLM is a single, one-off payment of €799, paid by credit card at the time of application.
There is no cash refund, since the fee covers the independent review itself, which takes place regardless of outcome. However, if you are not successful, you are entitled to one free reapplication within 12 months, once your required 6-month waiting period has passed, so you have a genuine second opportunity to apply with new evidence.

To protect the depth and quality of review, every submission gets a genuine, unhurried assessment from both founders, which isn't possible at unlimited volume.
A digital certificate, along with instructions for printing a physical copy yourself if you'd like one. We don't ship physical diplomas internationally, so this keeps it simple and available to everyone, wherever you're based. You'll also receive a personal note from Nienke and Ian marking your accreditation.
Yes, you can print one yourself. We provide printing instructions along with your digital certificate, rather than shipping physical diplomas, since international shipping isn't practical for a credential issued worldwide.
Yes, accredited holders can use "CXLM" as a post-nominal, following the usage guidelines provided upon accreditation.
No. Once accredited, your CXLM credential is permanent. There is no renewal requirement and no recurring fee.
Existing accreditations remain valid and recognized permanently, regardless of any future change in who operates CXLM.
Not yet, but it's a natural next step being considered as the community of accredited leaders grows.
Not currently, but it's something that may be considered as CXLM matures.
It means their CX leadership, Authority, Narrative, and Impact, has been independently reviewed and verified against real evidence, not self-reported experience alone.
Every submission is reviewed independently by both founders before a joint decision is made, based on a documented standard, not just professional reputation.
Yes, verification can be requested directly, and a public verification method is planned as CXLM grows.
CXLM accreditation provides external recognition of your CX leader's demonstrated expertise, adding weight when presenting that expertise to customers, partners and other stakeholders. It also gives your organisation an achievement to communicate, an opportunity to showcase the CX work delivered and acknowledge the teams who contributed.
Both. Accreditation recognises the leadership behind meaningful CX results, but it also gives colleagues an achievement to celebrate and a reason to feel proud of their contribution to that work.
It shows that your organisation values experienced CX leadership and invests in its professional recognition, a visible, public commitment to CX leadership, not just an internal nicety.
Nienke has been a Recognized Training Provider (RTP) for the CXPA since 2017, and Ian since 2015. Between us, we've spent more than 22 years in CX education, training, mentoring, and preparing candidates for CCXP. We've got the stars and the scars to prove it, and CXLM is built on everything that time has taught us about what's still missing.
Since 2018, we've both judged, and hosted, the International CX Awards together. Year after year, sitting across hundreds of entries from CX teams worldwide, the pattern was always the same: the entries that stood out weren't the best-written ones, they were the ones where someone could show real Authority, had a genuine Narrative, built on real leadership instruments like strategy and change management, behind their strategic change, and could prove the Impact it created. That's the piece we realized was missing from how the industry certifies its leaders. CCXP tests whether you understand CX management. Nobody was testing whether you're actually an authority who's led change and made it stick. CXLM is what years of judging real results, not slides, told us the market needs next.
Fair question. Between us, the standing comes from two different angles. Since 2018, Ian and I have hosted and judged the International CX Awards together, reviewing thousands of real, submitted entries, not hypotheticals, from CX teams around the world. That gave us a sharp eye for the difference between a polished story and a genuinely earned result. But judging from a distance is only half of it. Since 2020, Nienke has run her own CX Leadership Mastermind, personally guiding CX professionals through exactly this transition, from managing CX to leading it. Ian has done the same, guiding many CX professionals of his own toward real leadership. Between the two of us, we haven't just evaluated this distinction from the outside. We've coached people through it, up close, for years.
We think CX as a profession is entering its next phase, moving on from proving the discipline exists to recognizing who's actually leading it well. We'd rather build the thing that matches that shift now, while we have the experience, the network, and honestly the curiosity to do it properly, than wait for someone else to get around to it.
Genuinely, yes. This isn't a side offer bolted onto our existing businesses. Between the Awards, our training work, and years mentoring CX professionals into CCXP, this profession is what we've built our careers on. CXLM is us trying to leave something behind that's tied to the actual work we've watched define great CX leadership for years, not just another line on a certificate.
Being direct: our names and reputations are the collateral here. Every CXLM holder is a public reflection of our judgment. That's a stronger incentive to keep the bar genuinely high than any fee could undo, a diluted standard costs us more than it earns us.
It shouldn't, on our word alone, that's why the founding cohort has to earn it on the same evidence bar as everyone after them, why the methodology is published openly, and why we're not making claims like "the gold standard", the standard has to prove itself, not be declared.
Just reach out. Send an email to nienke@nienkebloem.nl and we'll get back to you quickly.
